Melissa Goslin, Executive Director
Melissa Goslin is the Executive Director of the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, where she combines a lifelong passion for storytelling, education, and the arts to strengthen one of North Louisiana's oldest cultural institutions. An award-winning filmmaker, producer, freelance writer, and creative educator, Melissa has built a career centered on connecting people through compelling stories and meaningful artistic experiences.
Before joining Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, Melissa taught screenwriting at LSU Baton Rouge, wrote a national newspaper column, and wrote techincal manuals to support the US special operations community. Her diverse professional background also includes leadership and volunteer service with several regional arts organizations, reflecting her longstanding commitment to cultivating a vibrant creative community in Shreveport.
Melissa is an internationally recognized instructor who leads writing and creativity workshops, encouraging artists, writers, and filmmakers to develop authentic voices and tell stories that matter. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Louisiana State University and an MPhil in Screen Media and Culture from University of Cambridge.
A proud advocate for North Louisiana, Melissa is passionate about supporting young artists and showcasing the extraordinary talent found throughout the region. She believes the arts have the power to transform communities, inspire confidence, and create lasting connections.
Melissa lives in Shreveport with her partner, Rob, their son Finnegan, daughter Chloe, and their three cats—Bowie, Hitchcock, and Buffy.
